PADI Boat Diver

Learn the basics of boat setup, safety equipment, and expectations of how to conduct yourself on a dive boat so that you are confident and knowledgable on any charter. Practice different entry and exit techniques, and for some, try boat diving for the very first time!

Duration: 1/2 day

Minimum age: 10 years old

Prerequisites: Open Water Diver certification

Minimum participants required to run the course:
If fewer than 2 people are registered for a session:

• we will contact you in advance to reschedule or combine with another group
• alternatively you may be offered the option to run the course privately at an adjusted rate

This is a great first step into the world of Tobermory dive charters. This course takes place from a boat where will complete two training dives while you practice entering and exiting the water and safely stowing your gear on board the vessel. Your PADI Instructor will also teach you about local boat diving etiquette and other boating safety procedures and lingo.

• PADI Open Water certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)

What will I do?

• Learn the basics about boat setup, safety equipment, and expectations of how to conduct yourself so that you are confident and knowledgeable on any dive charter boat
• Exercise various entry and exist techniques for vessels based on size and configuartion
• Practice emergency procedures in the unlikely event that you ever become separated from your dive boat

The course is completed over the course of one half day with 2 boat dives.
